This week, we spotlight Carolyn Westmoreland, HR Associate at 3D Cloud™. Let’s read on to learn more!
Carolyn, how did you learn about 3D Cloud™, and what is your current role at the company?
I found the company two years ago when they were searching for an additional HR person to support the Director of People. When I learned about the company and talked with various people during the interviews, it was a clear fit of great people with a cool product/solution! I am currently an HR Associate.
What does your role consist of?
I work with all things people related – anything HR and Benefits. This includes a lot of spreadsheets and legal jargon to ensure we maintain compliance in all aspects of HR and Benefits.
What do you think is the most important skill that you bring to the table?
I think the most important skill that I try to bring to the table is always looking at the big picture. This means looking months to years in advance and looking at all alternatives to ensure what we are doing is fair and aligns with our long-term goals and initiatives.
How do you motivate yourself at work? Do you have any secret tips?
No secret tips, just a lot of Post-it notes! What I do daily can impact many people, so I do my best for everyone involved, which keeps me going. The people here are great, and we want to do our best to do right by everyone.
What are three words to describe 3D Cloud?
Innovative, Cool, Fun
What is the best advice you could give to someone who just started a career at 3D Cloud?
Be prepared to learn a lot, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. Everyone here is willing to help you learn and grow, and there is a great sense of teamwork as we all are working towards the same goals, so no question is off-limits.
What have you gained from working at 3D Cloud?
I have learned a lot about the tech industry, but I have gotten the chance to expand my HR skill set.
Who are some of your biggest inspirations at 3D Cloud, and why?
This is a great question, as there are so many here! In my day to day, Casey Spille and Christina Brookfield are the ones that come to mind most often. They both have a massive amount of grit to get tough jobs done, and they truly have mastered the “friendly reminder!”
What is a dream that you want to make come true one day?
I want to visit all 50 states!
What is one food you can’t resist? Pizza? Ice Cream?
The dark chocolate peanut butter cups from Trader Joe’s – far superior to a Reese’s Cup…..I said what I said….
